“I’m graceful to FVI and all professors like Victor Moreno and Randy Ferrer for providing me with skills and abilities that helped open the doors to a world full of new opportunities. Coding literally changed my life and has become a powerful tool to grow and improve my life in several aspects. Excellence, knowledge, respect, dedication are the things you’ll find every step of the learning process.”

Frank Veloz, Web Developer at Tango Mango

“When I arrived at the school the first day, I came with many ideas in my head. I had heard many opinions from different people, some positives and many negatives, not about the school, but about the programs. One of my friend was telling me: you are Crazy when you graduate you are not going to get a job, you will have a huge debt, and all their promises are just to steal your money. Ignoring these negative opinions, I continued my journey without looking back. I just wanted to follow my dream. I wanted a better future, I wanted a better job in an area of my interest. Step by step I was getting to know the staff of the school, and I understood the high academic level of the professors, they are all very knowledgeable and dedicated, and they put a lot of time preparing their classes. In the first two months I was convinced that I did not make a mistake, and that I was in the right place to achieve my goal. Each class and each subject called my attention more and more, and allowed me to learn everything I needed. When the months passed and I realized that my time in school expired I felt very sad because I did not want to leave. The school helped me to accommodate my externship hours around my busy schedule. Today, for more than a month, I am working as a Medical Assistant in a doctor office, in which I performed EKG, Phlebotomy, Data entry, Vital signs etc. It is a great opportunity to put into practice the good knowledge I acquired in School and they are happy with my work telling me that I am a good worker.”

My doctor is satisfied with my work and my patients respect and trust me.

    Yanet Gonzalez – Medical Assistant

“When I started school I didn’t have the slightest idea of how much I would learn, I started the course without knowing anything about healthcare and the care that it requires. I did not want to know anything about being in hospitals, but as the time was passing, I became passionated about what I was learning. I had some excellent teachers who shared with me and my colleagues their knowledge and encouraged us learn. It was difficult for me, since I had no experience in the subjects I was studying, but I learned from my colleagues, they told me not to be afraid and they let me know that it is never too late to learn something new …

I worked hard every month, and I made many sacrifices. My family was there to support me and of course God, who guided me on the right path. I feel very proud of myself, and pleased with the staff of the school that always were optimistic in our future.

Now I work for Miami Cerebral Palsy as direct support apprentice (DSA) applying what I learned, and I feel very happy.  It was not easy but not impossible, the road is long but my interest in moving forward still stands.”

Tatiana Torres – Patient Care Technician
